The animators knew that Carl would need a backstory to answer those questions. They decided to tell it with a prologue that details the character’s life from his childhood to his golden years. But these early scenes reveal that Up isn’t only about Carl—it’s also about his relationship with his wife, Ellie. They’re kids when she bursts into his life with a shock of red hair and a passion for exploration, and the interaction leads to a deeply felt, lifelong connection. If you are a Disney fan, you should pay the house a visit.

After Ellie’s funeral, which is decorated with pink flowers and balloons, Carl heads back to the house that now belongs only to him. “We have a really, really small camera pullback,” Lin says. And then the camera comes to a stop.” When Carl opens the door and walks inside, the soft pink light shining on the house dims out. Over the past three decades and 25 movies, Pixar has filled its universe with countless unforgettable characters.

From the photos that I have seen online the inside looks really interesting. This house was created by Frank Gehry for him and his family in 1978. He changed an existing house and turned it into something truly unique.

For a long time, the fence was carrying dozens of balloons, some of them with wishes and greetings for the house. During my visit in August of 2020, there were only a few ballons on the fence. Most of the time you can’t even see the house with all the parked delivery trucks along the street.

Also known as Malin House, this iconic landmark house was designed in 1960 by American architect John Lautne. This modernist house is particularly unique because of a 5ft wide concrete pole that is nearly thirty feet high holding up the 2200 square foot octagon shaped house. Although privately owned, you can still swing by for a clear view of the exterior. Not only is the beautiful craftsman style Gamble house an amazing place to visit for architecture fans, but movie fans will appreciate it too.
While the majority of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was filmed on location in Chicago, there were a few scenes that were filmed in the LA area. The exterior scenes of the Bueller house were among the ones filmed on the West Coast. The address for the Last Man Standing house is 611 Lorraine Boulevard in Windsor Square. Poor eyesight put the kibosh on Larry Walters' top-gun dreams, but the man was determined to fly. You'd think he'd just go out and get himself a commercial pilot's license, but, no.... Walters said later that he had nurtured the idea of flying using balloons for 20 years, ever since seeing helium balloons hanging from the ceiling of an Army-Navy surplus store. As a huge fan of The Golden Girls seeing their “Miami” house in person was a thrill! I recently had the opportunity to see the inside of the home when it went on sale as it turns out that I knew the realtor. I wasn’t feeling well the day I was supposed to go so I had to pass on the experience. I know it doesn’t look like the set but getting to go inside such an iconic house is a rare chance.

Walters' stunt earned him his requisite five minutes of fame. The Bonehead Club of Dallas awarded him its top prize for the year. This house is most likely recognized from being used in the movie The Big Lebowski. It was built from 1961 to 1963 It was built as a cave-like dwelling that embraces nature. I am really looking forward to checking this one out in person in the future. The Chateau style home was built in 1909 by Rollin B. Lane. Ownership of the house remained with the Lane family until 1955. In 1963 the home became The Magic Castle, home to the Academy of Magical Arts.
After architect Rudolph Schindler came to California in the 1920s to oversee construction of Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House, he designed his residence in West Hollywood. Some say it was the first modern house to respond to California's unique climate, serving as the prototype for the distinctive California style that developed in the early twentieth century. Schindler came to California to work for Frank Lloyd Wright and supervise construction of the Hollyhock House.
Since the corruption scandal became public in 2019, some moves have already been made. The ratepayer advocate — which is housed in the Office of Public Accountability — now sits in on closed-door board meetings, after previously being shut out. You can also take a regularly scheduled tour of the Schindler-designed Mackey Apartments which are nearby.
If you're looking for fun jumper rentals, you're in the right place. Built for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall and another one of Frank Lloyd Wrights creations, this house is located in East Hollywood and was commissioned years before Wright’s “textile block” constructions. The home is a great example of Wright’s attempt to create regionally specific southern California architecture. Wright himself referred to it as California Romanza, using a musical term meaning “freedom to make one’s own form”. Today the house is at the center of Bransdall Art park, complete with an art complex, a theater and beautiful gardens. As of writing of this article, The Hollyhock is closed for restoration, but worth checking out once it re-opens.

Your best chance to see it is on the weekends when little to no filming is happening. For the last two Christmases, the studio has decorated the home for the holidays which has been incredible to see. The house from Young Sheldon is not in Texas, it is a short drive from the Warner Bros Studio where the tv series is filmed. If you take the Warner Bros Studio Tour you might get to see some places in the backlots where the show has been filmed but they never open up the sets in the soundstages for viewing. However, if you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory (and old Sheldon) you can see Sheldon and Leonard’s apartment and even sit in Sheldon’s spot.
